Women Balloonists

 This exhibit has brief biographies of women balloonists. A special notebook contains more information and pictures of women pilots, crew members, crew chiefs, observers and the balloons they work with and details of some of their accomplishments and awards.

   
                         HIstorical Women (no longer living)                                                Nikki Caplan Bust

Nikki Caplan was the first balloonist in the state of Missouri and trained many pilots to fly hot air balloons.  She also flew gas balloons and parcipated in many ballooning events in America and Europe during her career.

 
Contemporary Women Balloonists (living)

All women in ballooning are invited to submit a brief biography, a photo of themselves and a photo of their balloon(s) to be included in the collection.
